Bright Ideas for Organizing Cell Phone Contacts and Medical Info

Here is how I organize my cell phone list:

On phones and computer lists, numbers will list before letters (numeric before alpha).

Instead of speed dial, I have my family members' names listed as such:

1Dad
1Daughter's name C (her cell phone number)
1Home (landline)
1Son's name

So these are always at the top of my contact list.

A space and letter 'C' after a name means it's that person's cell phone number. Their landline has a separate listing.

Also, I have my address book and phone numbers in an Excel spreadsheet--one sheet for family and one sheet for friends. When we travel, I carry the printed list with me, just in case our phones die or there's no service. Our two adult children also have copies, so they can reach us quickly at someone's house.

MEDICAL INFO

I have an Excel spreadsheet for my medical history and a separate one for my husband. Each spreadsheet file has 4 sheets. The header on every sheet contains name, birthdate, address, phone number, and current date of printing. We update the information when there are any changes.

Page 1. Medical history, including names and dates of tests, plus inoculations.

Page 2. Medication names and dosages (OTC & prescription).

Page 3. Doctors and pharmacy contact information.

Page 4. Previous medical providers.

We take a fresh copy to each doctor or dental visit. When they ask for new info, we write 'see attached list' on the medical form. This saves us time and the medical staff appreciates it.

Thank you for all your good work!
