TO DO This Week
____ 1. Say goodbye to unused cookbooks: There was a time when many of us
bought and used cookbooks regularly. As technology advanced and the Internet
became commonplace, cookbooks have taken a back burner to recipes that are more
easily accessible online. Time to say goodbye to those old cookbooks that are
not getting used anymore. If there are certain recipes that you don't want to
part with, it may be easier to type them up and just store them in a file on
your computer. Eliminating unused cookbooks will free up space to store the
things that you actually do use.
____ 2. Schedule in some down time: With the rush of the season, it isn't
unusual to start to feel overwhelmed and over-tired. We try to pack so much into
a few weeks and it can make us feel less than jolly. Set some time aside for
yourself this week to just do something that you really WANT to do and not
something that you NEED to do. It could be a family movie night or coffee with a
friend. Whatever it may be, make a point to fit it into your schedule this week.
Taking care of yourself is not a crime.
____ 3. Prepare for New Year's Eve: If you are one of the folks who likes
to ring in the new year with a night out, make sure you are planning
accordingly. If you are looking to have a dinner out, or anything else that may
require a reservation, take care of that now. New Year's Eve will inevitably be
a busy night out on the town and you'll want to make sure that you are able to
get seating for whatever it is that you are planning. Make any necessary
reservations now before it is too late to get a spot reserved. Even if you're
going to spend the evening at home, make a plan...get the movies you want to
see on your Netflix queue, for instance, or pull out the board games you
want to play and be sure all the pieces are there...dice and such.
