  TO DO This Week

TO DO This Week

____ 1. Outsmart cold and flu germs. While in the thick of cold and flu season, it's a good idea to take precautions when you can. Wipe down all electronic devices thoroughly, especially the ones that get handled by more than one person (think TV remotes and computer keyboards). Wash your hands often and thoroughly. If you touch a door knob, door handle, light switch, or other 'touchable' item, especially in a public place, squeeze some anti-bacterial cleaner on your hands (I always keep a small one in my purse...and in my car.) Be conscious about touching your face...especially your eyes and mouth. It's very easy to do this as a habit, but when you do, you're potentially inviting cold and flu germs into your body. Finally, be sure you're catching enough zzzzzzzz's, eating healthy, and exercising to keep your immunity system strong.

____ 2. Clean out your phone contacts: January is a great time to go through your phone contacts and delete any that you no longer need. Doing so will make finding the numbers you do use easier, as well as clear up some memory on your phone.

____ 3. Make an effort to use cloth shopping bags more often: The next time you visit the grocery store and are asked, 'Paper or plastic?' respond, 'Neither.' It's actually more environmentally-friendly to use (and reuse) cloth bags. They're strong, they don't rip like plastic or paper bags do when you're carrying heavier items (cans and bottles), and they hold so much more than their flimsy counterparts...making hauling in your groceries a ton easier. After you unload your groceries, nest your cloth bags inside each other and store them in your car. When you're ready to go grocery shopping, place your cloth bags on the car seat next to you, with your list and coupons, so you don't forget to bring them in the store. By the way, I always bring cloth bags with me when I do other shopping (the mall and such) as well!

  In Closing

'It will feel impossible; like you are dying inside - this is your soul crying out for life. It may take everything you have; every ounce of will and strength. You will lose a part of yourself trying to save something essential and innocent. And when you have given everything, you will recover and you will be set free, and you will discover there was even more in you than you ever knew.'
--Bryant McGill
