____ 1. Being caught up on laundry. I like to end each day with an empty laundry sorter...because that means I'm not going to be 'behind' with the laundry tomorrow. To keep up in my family, requires me to run the washer/dryer cycle twice each day...once for dark colors, and once for towels and light colors. I adjust the water levels in my washer, according to the loads, to save on water if it's not a full load. On the weekend, we run a few additional cycles to get the bed linens washed, and to handle any delicates. When we're on vacation, I always try to choose a hotel with laundry facilities and invest a few hours at the end of the trip in the hotel laundry room...and we always come home with clean clothes ready to put away.



____ 2. Lighting candles for special occasions. We started a tradition for birthdays, weddings, baptisms, anniversaries, and other special days to light candles at the table for breakfast and dinner. It reminds us that it's a special day so we reflect on what we are celebrating. Plus, it adds ambiance to the meal as well.




____ 3. A sizable folder for kid masterpieces. If you have kids or grandkids in grade school, chances are the children come home from school with tons of drawings, paintings, and other masterpieces. And very often, that art is too big to file in regular file folders. So, after you've had the chance to display it proudly for a week or two, here's a great solution for stowing it away afterwards.
