Physically and Emotionally Cluttered with School Papers
A GON Reader Asks:
Hi Maria,
Thank you for your newsletters!
I am slowly working on selling my unused or extra homeschool books. That is
helping cut down the clutter. But I'm not sure what to keep after each year,
with regards to the children's finished work. I'm thinking about having each of
them choose a few samples of the year to keep.
I know I was always excited to see my schoolwork from when I was little, so I
thought maybe my children would be the same. Right now I keep the papers in
storage tubs in the garage. Each year I end up adding one. With five children
however...we're getting a little physically and emotionally cluttered.
I enjoy reading your emails. Thank you for sending them.

Maria Gracia responds:
Hi Kathrine,
Thanks so much for your note. Yes, you definitely have the right idea. There's
no way you can keep all of your kids schoolwork, and they're not going to want
to plow through boxes of it when they're grownups. But having a few keepsake
papers from each year for each child is worth keeping. They may love to have
these, and if they don't, they can trash them when they're adults.
What I've done for my daughter is I have a 'report cover' for each year. This
particular one on Amazon has an 85 sheet capacity...although I don't try to
stuff that many papers into it: https://amzn.to/2Uw6JGm
I add about 25 sheet protectors...and that's my daughter's school memories for
ONE year. I simply slide the papers I want to keep into the sheet protectors.
Since these have a clear cover, the very first page you see is her Name, School,
Grade and School Year...which I print up on the computer.
In it, I put the most meaningful paperwork from that year, like essays she
wrote, a math paper that included a special note from one of her teachers,
an award certificate she received that year, a program from the school play
she was in, and the like.
I then save these for her, year after year, in one larger box.
If you have one storage tub per child, that's probably a good rule of thumb.
This way, you can send each child off later when they leave the nest, with
one memory box.
Hope this helps!

Apple vs. Pear
Do This for a Tighter Tummy
and Slimmer Thighs
Is it really possible to re-shape a woman's body at any age? And WITHOUT
starving yourself to cut calories? Or killing yourself in the gym to burn more?
Fortunately, yes. And it involves hormones. Hormones can send calories to your
hips, butt and thighs - the PEAR shape. Or to your tummy - the APPLE shape. Or
to BOTH areas - the bloated SODA CAN shape.
However, a healthier, more comfortable hourglass shape is possible with the
RIGHT mix of hormones. Just try doing this. Visit:
