It's the Little Things
Little things mean a lot. Small gestures we do for others often mean more than
the big, over-the-top ones. So why do we tend to focus on the bigger things
instead of the smaller things? Is bigger necessarily better?
The same school of thought applies when it comes to getting projects done. A
long list of projects can seem insurmountable when all the items on the list are
big. These can be projects that take either a lot of time, a lot of effort, a
lot of thought, or all three. So what if, instead of thinking big, we scale back
and think small instead?
If you want a guaranteed feeling of accomplishment, sometimes it's better to
take a day or two to focus solely on the little jobs. You know the jobs I mean:
the little 'tasks' that we need to get done that don't take a whole weekend
and/or an army of people to accomplish, but that we sometimes put off anyway,
like weeding 10 items out of the clothes closet, deleting junk mail from your
email inbox, washing very visible fingerprints off the wall, folding and putting
away a load of laundry, returning library books, or scheduling a much-needed
hair appointment. None of these TO DOs are overly difficult or time-consuming,
but can still pile up and sit, week after week.
Use a few days during your week to take charge of these little jobs that take a
relatively short period of time to complete. In fact, if you keep track of all
these smaller jobs you're getting done, just imagine what it will look like in a
month's time! One little job, followed by a second little job, then a third can
quickly turn into a house full of little accomplishments that leave you feeling
like you've actually made a lot of progress.
Want to sweeten the pot even more? Reward yourself after a few of the jobs are
completed. Maybe give yourself 20 (timed) minutes of time to hang out on
Facebook after completing 3 small tasks...or time to read your favorite
magazine? There's nothing wrong with dangling a carrot in front of yourself if
the end result is getting some jobs done. The feeling of accomplishment, topped
off by a fun reward, may be all that you need to finally make some headway with
your TO DO list.
Now...this is not to say you should ignore your bigger tasks. After all, we all
end up with major projects, like rooms that need to be repainted, or your attic
is calling your name for a major organizing session, or you have to plow through
17 boxes of old photos. There are two ways you can get these done too. Some
folks like marathon sessions for big projects like these. Schedule a day,
weekend, or whatever it takes to get ONE of these big projects done, and do it
all at once. Or, if this sounds too colossal for you, break ONE big project down
into tiny pieces, and focus on this project's segments a few days a week until
that project is complete. Then, focus on your next big project.
In summary, life is full of TO DOs, some big and some small. The method I
described above is a great blueprint for getting both types of TO DOs completed,
and feeling an amazing sense of accomplishment each week.

Brain Training for Dogs
Is the Secret to Making
Your Dog's Problem Behaviors Disappear

No matter what your dog's problem behavior is, be it jumping, peeing
inappropriately, nipping, aggression, pulling on the leash...or whatever, there
is ONE SOLUTION that can help STOP this problem now.
The sad fact is, most dog trainers miss this solution entirely. They give you
cookie-cutting training programs. They use outdated and 'mean' dominance
techniques. Or worse yet, they have no qualifications and are complete phonies.
So what's the answer to stopping your dog's behavior problems? In 5 simple
words...
Discovering your dog's hidden intelligence.
Let me explain. More intelligent dogs are better behaved. A more intelligent dog
takes commands easier and understands what you need from them. The good news is,
no matter how clever you think your dog is, you can unlock his/her hidden
intelligence quickly and easily.
Don't waste a second longer coping with problem behaviors you don't need to be
dealing with. Visit this link to learn more about Brain Training for Dogs:

P.S. When you visit, you'll also find out how to get Behavior
Training for Dogs complimentary. I'll remind you up until the deadline on
Friday, May 3rd, at 11:59 p.m.
GON Shocking Statistics
Most people wear only 20% of their clothing 80% of the time. This means that 80%
of most closet and drawer space is being taken up by clothing that is never
worn. Weed out what you're not wearing and free up some storage space. Ask
yourself these quick questions to help you make your tossing decisions...
