Oil and grease (from salad dressing, bacon, lipstick, etc.) stains tend to linger on clothing, even after washing. You can try pre-treating with a stain stick, but something that works even better is plain white chalk (yes, the chalk we use to write on chalkboards) and I always keep some in my laundry room.

BEFORE washing, rub chalk onto the stain. The powder will absorb the grease. Then, wash with detergent as you normally would.

Finally, and this is important, line dry to be sure the stain is removed. I have a drying rack in my laundry room for items that cannot be placed in the dryer. If you put the clothes in the dryer and the stain isn't quite gone yet, that stain will set, and even the chalk won't save you.
