  Web Poll Results

Yes or No?

I recently ran a web poll asking GON readers...

When someone asks you a favor that you really don't have time for, do you have trouble saying no?

Here are the results:

45% I'll admit, sometimes I get roped into things I don't have time to do, even non-emergencies.

33% I can say no most of the time, unless I'm needed for a true emergency.

16% If I don't have the time, I say it right then and there.

6% I can't say no, no matter what it is. My time is never my own.

I get it. It's not always easy saying no. But sometimes we take on way more than we could handle, causing us to get overwhelmed, frustrated, stressed-out, sometimes even physically ill.

Here are a few words of advice so your kind heart doesn't constantly end up with you having absolutely no time for yourself.

1. When you're saying no, you're NOT saying no to the person. You're saying no to the request. This is really an important point here that has helped me tremendously in life and it's a good mindset to have anytime you have to turn down a request for your time. It helps remove the guilt that may be associated with saying no.

2. Be polite, but firm; not wishy-washy. Sometimes you know right off the bat that whatever is being asked of you, you really don't want to do it. Here are two very good statements to have at the ready, 'Thanks for thinking of me, but I just have too much on my plate' or 'That request doesn't really fit into my life goals, but thanks for asking.' This is clear, concise, and doesn't require you to think of any excuses. If the person isn't respecting your boundaries, don't be afraid to say no twice.

3. Counter with an alternate volunteer possibility. Sometimes, you may really want to help, but your time just won't allow. Let's say you're asked to help out with your upcoming church fundraiser dinner, you may say that you don't have the time for that, but you'd be happy to donate a gift card to pay for some of the groceries.

It's perfectly OK to say no to protect your time, especially when it's limited. This is not to say you should never say yes when the desire is there and your time allows. But if your available time and/or interest is limited, being able to say no is a good skill to have. After all, if you don't respect your own time, noone else will either.

The World's Sharpest Knives

Help You Save Time (and are safer) in the Kitchen
In Fact...
They Even Passed the Shave Test,
the Tomato Test AND
the Ninja Test!

Makes a wonderful gift for others...or for you!

For super quick details, and a great video, about the world's sharpest knives, visit:

http://www.getorganizednow.com/rd-chef.html

Did you know that there's nothing more dangerous in the kitchen than cutting with dull knives? A dull blade requires more effort and pressure to cut. This means there's a higher chance the dull knife will slip with a lot of force behind it, increasing the chances of an injury...and possibly a visit to the ER.

This particular set of knives is very unique. They're incredibly lightweight and are super-strong (they can easily cut through a butternut squash and makes slicing meat a breeze). This is because they're made with a ceramic blade that is actually 10 times sharper than steel.

You've got to check them out. For details, visit:

P.S. As a special bonus, when you order before FRIDAY, JULY 12, you will get the following eBooks complimentary:

* 101 Food, Fruit, and Kitchen Hacks
* Fit Cookin'...Delicious, Healthy Recipes
* 25 Delicious Salad Recipes

To get your complimentary bonuses, just email me at: getorgnow@charter.net along with your order number and I'll email your files immediately.

By the way, these knives make great gifts too...for anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, someone who tailgates at sporting events, and more!

Also, and this is pretty cool...when you get your knives, 10 hungry Americans will receive a meal on your behalf through the amazing 'Feeding America' organization!
