5 of My Favorite Ways to Keep Bathrooms Clean
Here are five of my favorite ways to keep the bathroom clean.
1. To help prevent mildew: Wipe down any water after using the shower or
sink. Leaving droplets of water on the shower walls and the sink after washing,
can leave water spots everywhere...giving your bathroom an unclean appearance.
Whenever anyone finishes showering or using the sink, ask them to wipe these
areas with a dry towel. You can reuse the same towel for a few days and then
toss it in the laundry basket. Alternately, they can squeegee the shower
walls...and glass shower door if applicable. In addition, open a window (if
there's a window in the bathroom) and turn on the exhaust fan WHILE showering.
When you're done showering, stretch the shower curtain open to allow it to dry.
2. Ditch the bar soap. Use a liquid soap with a pump or a soap dispenser
instead. You'll be able to get rid of the grimy soap dish and will keep shower
ledges and countertops cleaner.
3. Keep supplies off your bathroom counter. Empty cabinets, vanities, and
shelves of any unnecessary clutter so you can organize what you have inside the
cabinets and on the shelves...and keep toiletries and such OFF the counter. The
less there is to pick up, the easier it is to quickly wipe clean after every
use.
4. Swish the toilet once per night.
I use
Lysol Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner. While you're at it, spray the seat and the
rim with disinfectant and wipe clean.
5. Get one more use out of dryer sheets. After drying your clothes, stash
the used dryer sheet in the bathroom cabinet. You can use each one more
time...but this time to quickly grab hair or and dust bunnies off the bathroom
floor.

'I have notes in my bathroom, yellow notes, and I stick 'em on the mirror,
things that happened that were uplifting boosters for me. Notes that say, "Today
is special, make today count." And then I have one note on the mirror in the
middle that says, "Look at the other notes.'
