____ 1. Thought-provoking conversation. There's plenty of talk about the weather, baseball, and general gossip...and that's all well and good. But talk that goes beyond that could be a breath of fresh air now and then. Did you know that when former president John F Kennedy was growing up, his father would assign a subject, like Algeria, and each family member would have to come to the table with something interesting to say about that subject? Why not use this 'conversation starter' idea and liven up the conversation a bit at the dinner table?

____ 2. Hearing a song on the radio that I've always enjoyed. The other day I was driving in my car and I heard the song, 'No Rain' by the group, Blind Melon. This is just one of those songs that I found so catchy the first time I heard it...and I never seem to tire of it. It was playing on the radio this morning, and it made me smile.

____ 3. The latest Apple iPad. Sometimes, phone screens, even larger ones, are just a bit hard to read or work on. Laptops, while made to be portable, don't always fit easily into a purse or tote. But a tablet does, and so this one is my on-the-go digital companion nearly as much as my phone. It has plenty of storage and battery life (10 hours on a single charge...wow!). The interface is very user-friendly, and I love the security of the Touch ID. When used with a Bluetooth keyboard (not included). I have a perfect size portable computer.
