  TO DO This Week

TO DO This Week

____ 1. Inventory cold weather gear. The worst time to discover that you don't have a decent pair of cold weather gloves or a warm winter hat is on the day that you first need them. Take inventory of your cold weather gear, including hats, gloves, scarves and boots. Retailers stock seasonal merchandise way ahead of time, so waiting too late in the winter season to shop for hats and gloves may result in you seeing more swimwear on the store racks than cold weather gear. Take inventory now and buy whatever you may need before the cold weather hits and the store's racks are picked over,

____ 2. Try out a new recipe. As the weather gets colder, my desire to be in a warm kitchen increases. Ask a friend if she has something her family likes to make or go online and search for something outside of your normal routine that catches your eye. Variety is good and you just may find a dish that you like enough to make over and over again in the coming months.

____ 3. Weed out and clean the doors of your fridge. The inside doors of the refrigerator often house condiments and salad dressings. Items like these can sit for long periods of time between uses. As a result, the ones in your fridge may be older (perhaps WAY older) than you may realize. Empty the fridge doors completely. Wet shelves with a spray cleaner (homemade or commercial) and give them a good scrub. Then wipe down all the bottles/containers that you pulled out and check the expiration dates. Discard anything past its freshness dates (or that you know you and your family will never use) and then replace them with new ones the next time you head to the grocery store (if you actually use that item enough). Organize anything still good back onto the fridge doors.
