When You Think of Clean and Your Home, What Comes to Mind?

In a recent Get Organized Now! Reader Poll, we asked, When you think of 'clean' and 'your home' what comes to mind?

Here are the results:

48% It's mostly clean, but there are a few neglected areas.

24% Half clean--half dirty, depending on what room you're in.

11% It's only clean if someone's visiting.

11% It's not clean, but Halloween just passed and horror houses are in season.

7% If it's not perfectly clean, I freak out.

A perfectly clean house is something we all would like, but most of the time, some area is going to need attention. It is sort of like playing whack-a-mole. You get one room clean, and another one pops up, needing attention.

Most of us live, as the poll shows, in mostly clean houses, with a few areas needing a little work. That's not bad at all. If you go to someone else's home, things look pretty neat and clean usually. But remember, you are most likely just in the 'public' areas. Your friend's spare bedroom may be loaded with stuff she is not sure what to do with. Or her dresser drawers might be a jumble of scarves, tee shirts, and underwear. You just don't see it. So do not be too quick to judge yourself by what you see as someone else's flawless cleaning achievements.

You can make your home reasonably clean within a brief amount of time. Maybe it will not be perfectly pristine, but most people won't notice.

First, go room by room and pick up things that do not belong in that room. Take them to where they do belong. This alone will do wonders. If you can, open windows just a bit (briefly if you're in a cold-weather state), to freshen the air.

Do a quick spiffing up - plump pillows, dust surfaces quickly, and straighten books or magazines. In the kitchen, do a quick wipe-down of the counters and appliance fronts, and load the dishwasher. Hang or fold the dishtowel. In the bathroom, quickly swish some bowl cleaner in the toilet, and wipe down counters and sinks. Vacuum and mop if there is time and the need. That takes care of the places any company is likely to see.

If you feel like continuing, in the bedroom, make the bed and move any dirty clothes to the hamper.

If you're still motivated and time permits, do a quick tidy of other rooms.

Of course, when you have more time, you can accomplish more or clean more deeply. But when you're pressed for time, remember, a quick cleaning is better than no cleaning at all.

No matter what your dog's problem behavior is, be it jumping, peeing inappropriately, aggression, pulling on the leash...or whatever, there is ONE SOLUTION that can help STOP this problem now.

The sad fact is, most dog trainers miss this solution entirely. They give you cookie cutting training programs. They use outdated and `mean' dominance techniques. Or worse yet, they have no qualifications and are complete phonies. So what's the answer to stopping your dog's behavior problems? In 5 simple words...

Discovering your dog's hidden intelligence.

Let me explain. More intelligent dogs are better behaved. A more intelligent dog takes commands easier and understands what you need from them. The good news is, no matter how clever you think your dog is, you can unlock their hidden intelligence quickly and easily.

Don't waste a second longer coping with problem behaviors you don't need to be dealing with. Visit this link to learn more about Brain Training for Dogs:
