____ 1. Having birthday cards and postage stamps on hand. I like sending birthday cards via regular snail mail. Because of this, I always have a supply of awesome birthday cards on hand, along with postage. Every January (and once each quarter of the year), I stop at my local Hallmark (there are tons of stores that sell greeting cards these days) and buy three months worth of birthday cards for family members and close friends. I like looking through the cards and carefully choosing the perfect one for everyone on my list (and I always go with a list, by the way!) I set a reminder on my phone a few weeks prior to birthdays coming up, write out the card, and get it in the mail in plenty of time for that person's special occasion.

____ 2. Having an ongoing 'fix it' list. No matter where you live, something always needs fixing...a squeaky door, a leaking faucet, a loose doorknob, a room that needs to be repainted, etc. I have an ongoing fix it list on the bulletin board in the laundry room. As we notice items that need fixing- up, unless it's an emergency that needs to be handled immediately, we write them on the list. My husband and I then choose one job each weekend, and handle it...or we call in a professional if it's something more major that we don't have the time or expertise to do ourselves. Bonus: In keeping up with these fix-it tasks, sometimes, there's nothing on the list...yay!

____ 3. A great planner for the new year. I just received this planner for 2020 as a gift, and I absolutely love it. It includes monthly and weekly views with plenty of space to jot notes, it's spiral-bound so it lays flat, and has tab dividers...not to mention some fun accessories. It has a durable, matte laminated hardcover with a lovely floral design, is big enough for my liking, AND also small enough to fit in my handbag when needed. Check it out here:
