My Latest Decluttering Projects
Maria,
In response to your
February 24th
10 Common Clutter Culprits newsletter:
Good recommendations on the clutter busters this week! I have been working on my
kitchen (slowly). I have a horrible pantry with deep shelves. I pulled
everything out last summer and re-organized and have managed to keep it up
pretty well despite two other adults who live in the house and tend to shove
stuff willy nilly.
Next I have to tackle the cupboard over the pantry. Lots of unused junk up there.
And the coffee mugs are proliferating again! I think they have babies.
I bought a stand for my cast iron frying pan. It holds three pans, but I don't
have the smaller sizes yet. I intended to put it in the cupboard, but have to
adjust the shelving. I use it so much...I may just leave it on the counter! Less
bending that way.

Note from Maria Gracia: Deb, loved your note. Congrats on all of your
organizing and decluttering efforts so far, as well as your plans to continue.
I'm so happy to hear your pantry has been reorganized and is in a good working
state and remaining in order (this is no small feat when others are stowing
stuff 'willy nilly.' Too funny.)
Not sure if you can do this, but my pantry shelves are very deep as well. My
husband installed pull-out shelving, and this has helped tremendously. But
again, this won't work for all pantries. If it doesn't for yours, I'm sure
you're using baskets, clear containers, and such to keep items neat and
organized. Let me know if you need any ideas, but it sounds like you have it
under control. I sure laughed at your coffee mug comment...so true!
Leaving the pan stand on the counter, if you have the space, is a great solution
to save your back and to retain space in the cupboard for other items needing
to be stored, especially since you use the pan so often.
Have a wonderful day...and thanks for writing in!
Maria
Act of Kindness Received
Maria,
In response to your
February 15th
To DO This Week newsletter that included the Random Acts of Kindness
TO DO...
Random act of kindness received: A friend cleaned out her closet and gave me a
bag of clothes she thought I might like. She also asked me to pass on any that I
didn't want to keep.

Note from Maria Gracia: Wonderful! This was a random act of kindness for you,
for others (who will receive donations), for your friend's closet (no sense
keeping clothing she can't use, and that someone else can), AND for the
environment (reusing)!
I so appreciate your note!
