TO DO This Week
____ 1. Clean coats and jackets. As soon as it's warm enough to put those
heavy winter coats and jackets away for the season, empty pockets of gloves,
coins, tissues, etc., take note of any stains that need treatment, and either
wash them yourself (bring them to the laundromat if you need larger machines) or
bring them to your local dry cleaner if they are dry-clean only. Once they're
clean, you can store them for the season.
____ 2. Plant some flowers or succulents in pots on your porch, balcony, or
patio. Some fresh life and color are a delight now, especially if you have
had a long winter. Succulents are easy to care for, not being too finicky about
water. Petunias or pansies provide color. Or perhaps try planting some bright
green herbs like parsley or lemon balm. Sweet potato vines are easy and add
color and interest too. If you like to garden and your last freeze date is past,
add some new plants there as well.
____ 3. Breathe. Blessings. With all the chaos ensuing around the world
with Coronavirus (COVID-19), it's very easy to get frustrated, stressed, and
anxious. The best thing you can do for yourself, and for others, is to be
mindful of home and personal hygiene...and to take at least 20 minutes a day to
find a comfortable spot in your home, close your eyes, and simply breathe. When
you're in a 'good place' in your heart and mind, grab a journal or notepad and
write down at least three blessings in your life to refocus your mind on the
positives.
