Something Helpful I Do When I Find a Recipe

Hi Maria,

Once I find a recipe that I want to try, I write/type it in steps with the ingredients indented, lined up and highlighted. Here is a simplified example:

Beat together
1/2 c butter (softened)
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla

Sift and stir in

1-1/4 c flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c chopped walnuts

Roll into logs and refrigerate.

Slice and bake at 350F

I use a large font and bold the text. Doing so is much easier on my aging eyes. I've included two photos.

I also keep my recipes in clear holders to keep them clean, while I'm spilling milk, flour, etc. I'm not a neat baker.

  In Closing

'Be passionate and bold. Always keep learning. You stop doing useful things if you don't learn. So the last part to me is the key, especially if you have had some initial success. It becomes even more critical that you have the learning 'bit' always switched on.'
