A Further Reason for Better Organization

Hello Maria,

We're finding a further reason for better organization. My husband's and my symptoms of a couple of diagnoses show we will soon need help several days a week in our home. Once the COVID-19 pandemic is under better control, we will continue our search for the proper agency with which to work. As soon as we had interviewed reps from two agencies (two days before our 'shelter at home' order was announced) I began to think how it will work when another person is here regularly.

One of the first things I did was label the TV and stereo remotes, 'TV' and 'Stereo' in large, easy-to-read labels...just written on plain paper and taped onto them. I am continuing to look around for other things I can label or slightly alter so things are more obvious and I have fewer explanations to give with each person who is here to help.

We are deciding what pieces of furniture we may be able to pass to others now. We live in a relatively small house and it may be a bit crowded with another person here regularly. My husband uses a big honker of a walker now. Thankfully, it's keeping him upright and walking. It needs more room than he does. I managed to eliminate some things and rearrange items in our bedroom so he can roll right in safely and park the walker right between the bed and the door.

I sew, draw, and am learning to watercolor paint. Better organizing the studio (just the smallest bedroom) is going to be the biggest challenge. Thankfully, I have kept all pared down relatively well. I expect moving to another place, possibly assisted living, is in our future. Already I'm wondering how many sewing and art supplies I can take with me. I want those decisions to be made in a peaceful, timely manner. So I keep observing.

Thank you for encouraging us to make life more convenient for ourselves.

Learn What Your Cat is Trying To Tell You With...

The Cat Language Bible

In it you'll learn how to finally understand
and speak with your cat

Yes, meow means something

What does it mean, you ask?

Good question. It's about the same as aloha in Hawaiian.

The meaning changes.

Context matters hugely. Is it a mean meow, or a friendly one?

What about the cat's body action? Is he facing towards you, or away? Is the tail curled, or lying flat against the floor?

Depending on these points, 'meow' could mean 'let's watch a movie together' or 'boy am I thirsty right now.'

So getting the tone and body language right is critical.

Finally, there's a quick guide on the essentials of cat communication to open your ears (and your heart) into the fascinating world of feline communication, both verbal and nonverbal.

This guide, written by a PhD animal communications expert Dr Jonas Jurgella, is the missing link that allows you to bond with your own feline friend as if he was a human child.

That's the power of true and honest communication, vs the primitive 'animal baby talk' that so many pet owners unfortunately relegate themselves to.

  In Closing

'Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning, it's a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes like coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.'
--Bruce Lee
