Organizing: In or Out
People are always asking me...'when it comes to a room looking like it's
organized, is it better to keep everything stored behind closed doors and
cabinets/drawers or out in the open where it can be easily seen and accessed?'
It's actually a great question...and the answer is that a room's 'look' can be
effective in either or both of those scenarios.
Keeping your belongings stored behind closed doors, and in cabinets and drawers,
is the easiest path. Having less 'visible' in a room means there will be less
'visual noise.' That being said, to achieve the most organized result, the items
behind those closed doors would be stored as like-items with like-items, in
storage containers when containment is needed, and labeled as applicable.
Having many of your belongings stored out in plain sight makes it more
challenging to have an organized look unless you have a very good eye for home
or office decor. Think of a candy store. Mostly everything is in plain sight,
but the candy is generally color-coordinated, like-items are with like-items
(for instance, all the fudge is in one area, etc.), and generally it's a fun,
organized look when done well. At home, you might like keeping all of your
grains out on the counter, for example, and that could look great if they're all
contained in clear containers of the same style. All of your pots and pans could
be wall-mounted in your kitchen, and I've seen that done beautifully. But you do
have to have a good eye for this sort of thing.
Also, some things could be stored 'out in the open,' but in containers or
baskets for a calmer look. For instance, you might have shelves in your bathroom
that hold wicker baskets. Towels or toiletries could be in those baskets so
they're not behind closed doors and also not out in the open. Coordinating
baskets or containers in the same color-scheme or style helps tremendously when
trying to achieve an organized, cohesive look.

Learn What Your Cat is Trying To Tell You With...
The Cat Language Bible
In it you'll learn how to finally understand
and speak with your cat

To fast forward to The Cat Language Bible, visit:

Yes, meow means something
What does it mean, you ask?
Good question. It's about the same as aloha in Hawaiian.
The meaning changes.
Context matters hugely. Is it a mean meow, or a friendly one?
What about the cat's body action? Is he facing towards you, or away? Is the tail
curled, or lying flat against the floor?
Depending on these points, 'meow' could mean 'let's watch a movie together' or
'boy am I thirsty right now.'
So getting the tone and body language right is critical.
Finally, there's a quick guide on the essentials of cat communication to open
your ears (and your heart) into the fascinating world of feline communication,
both verbal and nonverbal.
This guide, written by a PhD animal communications expert Dr Jonas Jurgella, is
the missing link that allows you to bond with your own feline friend as if he
was a human child.
That's the power of true and honest communication, vs the primitive 'animal baby
talk' that so many pet owners unfortunately relegate themselves to.

'I dusted my books off, placing each one-sorted alphabetically and by genre-on
the shelves Dad installed. What some people might call 'anal,' I'd call
efficient. What good was it to have a book if you couldn't find it when you
wanted it?'
