In response to my:
August 4th Newsletter on the topic of
Organizing Hair Accessories and Products...
I like the way this reader uses common items for storage instead of the more
costly ones available for purchase.
I'm a senior who has a monthly prescription. I use the empty plastic containers
for sewing supplies (buttons, needles and pins, bobbins, etc). One in a drawer
works for the few earrings I wear so they aren't lost. One holds a thumb drive.
I sort coins into empty pill bottles as well. I keep some in my car so I can
drop the containers into my purse when I need to purchase small items that I
don't want to use a debit card for. That keeps coins circulating.
Yours is the first email I open. I appreciate the tips for sanity and the small
amount of time required to read through them. That's a gift in itself to us.
Thank you.

In response to my:
July 30th Newsletter on the topic of
Managing Stress...
Maria, I'm so blessed and honored that you published the message I wrote back in
May today--I needed to read it again myself. COVID has been with us for months
now, and staying positive is getting hard. There has been loss of special
moments in life...times that can't be shared in person with my family, new
family babies that I can't cuddle, the difficulty of making things like
birthdays and baby showers work virtually (without human touch) in spite of
COVID, etc. At 72, life is getting short for me - and this is not what I thought
it would be like. My mom will be 92 soon - we probably won't be able to
celebrate her in person, because she is quarantined in an assisted living
facility. Personal human contact is important. The lack of it can make us really
sad right now.
There's an old song I like that says, 'Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and
start all over again!' I'm going to get busy and do some more decluttering,
call friends and family more by phone, and count my blessings for staying
healthy and not losing any family members to COVID. I want to rethink whether
things I've attended and been involved in that take me away from home, family,
and my own rest are important enough to use the precious time I have left in my
life. I want to make the life I still have to live count more.
Thanks so much for giving me a boost and reminding me of my own 'words of
wisdom.' It's so easy to give advice to others and not practice it yourself!
