TO DO This Week

____ 1. Set a Christmas budget. For many people, Christmas comes with
extra expenses. This week, come up with a Christmas budget so you stay within
what you can afford, without going overboard. Determine the full amount, and
then divvy it up for expenses like gifts, wrapping paper, food, decorations,
travel, etc. Keep your budget handy, and write down/add up all expenses, so you
can reference it throughout the season and stay on track.
____ 2. Declutter kid/grandkid spaces. As we get closer to Christmas,
many kids and grandkids will be getting new toys, games, and clothes. That's
why this time of year is a wonderful time to weed out these items that they
may currently have, but are no longer using. With so many families out of
work, donations of gently used items are going to be greatly needed. Many
donation centers are open, although some hours are more limited than in the
past, so check for drop-off times before you visit.
____ 3. Donate an appliance you never use. Whether it's a bread maker,
a mixer, a waffle iron, a cake ball maker, or an electric wok, most families
have at least one or more appliances they bought ages ago, but never use.
Donate one this week. There is always someone somewhere who is hoping for one
to pop up at a donation center.
