____ 1. Organized catalog shopping. With the holidays quickly approaching, our home's mailbox was stuffed so tightly with Christmas catalogs that I had to pull everything out with both hands and a lot of muscle. 'Tis the season. I enjoy browsing through catalogs this time of the year, but I don't want companies spending money to print and mail to me if I am unlikely to ever buy from them. So, when I receive one I know we'll never buy from, I contact the company and ask them to remove us from their mailing list. One phone call generally does the trick. For those that remain, as I'm flipping through a catalog, I often find myself saying to myself, 'That would be just perfect for my sister, Jude' or 'my dad would really love that!' I tear out the page the item is on, as well as the back page with the catalog code. The remainder of the catalog gets recycled. I then put the pages into a file folder, so I have everything I need to go online later and place my order if I so choose to do so.

____ 2. Keeping the clutter out. Our house rule is to only keep the things we use and/or love. As far as the rest, we donate, sell, pass on, or trash...depending on what it is and the condition that item is in. Why not do yourself a favor this week and lighten your load? It's a wonderful feeling to gain tons of extra space!

____ 3. 2020 Ornament. Every year, we buy a new ornament for our Christmas tree. While contemplating the theme for this year's ornament, I saw this '2020 A Year to Forget, Remember' ornament, and thought it was appropriate for everything that has transpired in 2020. I purchased it on the spot...and bought a bunch for friends as well. This has been a historic year, with so much heartache.
