____ 1. A 'Back to Basics' Christmas. It's less than two weeks before Christmas, and we've taken a very 'back to basics' approach this year. While we decorated, sent our cards out, and purchased/made some gifts, it was at about 50% capacity of last year. The only things left on my list are the TO DOs associated with our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meal...both are going to be very simplified this year and for our immediate family only. I'm looking forward to relaxing and reflecting in the days leading up to Christmas. I hope you're ahead of the game too...and if you're not, do what you can to streamline whatever is left to do, like buying online, having the store wrap for you, sending online cards or posting a holiday greeting on social media, etc. We've had a very challenging year with the global pandemic. Don't make it hard on yourself by doing more than you truly have to.

____ 2. Scheduling in time for the unexpected. Yesterday, I was working diligently, until 11:30 a.m. or so. That's when I got a call from a friend who needed my help in an emergency situation. Everything, thank goodness, turned out OK and the issue my friend was having is now resolved. Today's list, however, is basically double in size--all of today's work, plus yesterday's work that never was completed. But that's just how it goes sometimes, and flexibility is critical. For this very reason, I always keep my schedule very light on Fridays, with plenty of room for catch-up work. So, by the end of the week, everything will be handled...even though there was a hiccup yesterday. When adding tasks and events to your schedule for the week, always pad with plenty of time for unexpected things that may come up. This way, you won't feel like you're drowning in work if you or another family member is feeling under the weather, or a situation arises, or if your computer decides to act up without warning. A big part of being organized is preparing for times like these. If nothing occurs and you have lots of extra time, great! You can use that time to get a head start on the next day's work, or to do something fun and relaxing. If something does come up, you'll be able to still get those things done without too much stress.

____ 3. Organized greeting cards...ready to send. I like to mail greeting cards out in a timely fashion. Something that helps, without me having to leave my house, is a well-stocked greeting card organizer. This particular one comes with a nice assortment of greeting cards and envelopes, as well as dividers to sort by occasion. It includes more 'birthday' cards, than other occasions, which I like because birthday is the most frequent type of card I send out. The cards and designs are high-quality. And my handmade cards sort nicely into this box as well, to keep those safe until they're ready to send. For details, visit:

Learn What Your Cat is Trying To Tell You With...

The Cat Language Bible

In it you'll learn how to finally understand
and speak with your cat

Yes, meow means something

What does it mean, you ask?

Good question. It's about the same as aloha in Hawaiian.

The meaning changes.

Context matters hugely. Is it a mean meow, or a friendly one?

What about the cat's body action? Is he facing towards you, or away? Is the tail curled, or lying flat against the floor?

Depending on these points, 'meow' could mean 'let's watch a movie together' or 'boy am I thirsty right now.'

So getting the tone and body language right is critical.

Finally, there's a quick guide on the essentials of cat communication to open your ears (and your heart) into the fascinating world of feline communication, both verbal and nonverbal.

This guide, written by a PhD animal communications expert Dr Jonas Jurgella, is the missing link that allows you to bond with your own feline friend as if he was a human child.

That's the power of true and honest communication, vs the primitive 'animal baby talk' that so many pet owners unfortunately relegate themselves to.
