  New Year's Eve Message

Goodbye 2020

We've reached New Year's Eve 2020. Oh what a year this has been...one that many of us would like to soon forget. May the struggles and challenges we've faced (and the heartache so many have endured) allow us to recognize, celebrate, and appreciate every little blessing that comes our way in the year ahead.

Throughout my entire life, no matter where I've been on December 31st, I always watch the ball drop in New York City...either in person or on TV. I never missed even one year of doing this. There's just something special, energetic, and exciting about so many people in Times Square collectively and happily celebrating together.

Not this year, of course. It's going to be a virtual event and will be the first time the ball hasn't dropped since World War II (1942 and 1943). While I certainly understand why this event cannot take place in 2020, it makes me sad because it always has been a celebration, in my mind, that is the perfect symbol for better days ahead.

And most of us so desperately long for better days ahead as we conclude this past year.

The song, 'Auld Lang Syne,' will be played at the stroke of midnight in almost every English-speaking country in the world. My hope is that we'll be singing collectively. Even if we're not gathering with others, it's OK. We'll be together in mind and spirit.

When the song is over, there will be an entire New Year waiting for us...one filled with the hope of new and wonderful possibilities. After all, if we got through this year, we can get through anything.

Wishing you and your family a new year filled with hope, love, health, success, peace, friendship, prosperity, joy...and everything wonderful. And, of course, keeping with the focus of this newsletter, may the year 2021 be your most organized year ever!
