A few days ago, we had a bit of a snowstorm where I live. It began at midnight and ended up with about 7 inches of accumulation in the morning. We've had way worse than that in the past, but any time it snows, there is extra planning to do and work to be done.

I felt blessed that my husband woke up early, cranked up the snow blower, and had the driveway cleared before I had to leave my house for an appointment. In addition, the city crew did an amazing job, working all hours of the night, to have the main roads clear for driving before most people had to leave their homes for work and such.

Without clearing the snow, it would be very challenging for our family to get to wherever we had to be. It would also be difficult for the mail carrier to drop off our mail, or any couriers to bring packages up our walkway. It would be an issue for anyone to walk their dog on the sidewalk.

Snow presents many obstacles.

Clutter is a lot like snow. It's an obstacle too. Clutter makes it difficult to find what you're looking for. It makes it challenging to present a nice environment. It makes it hard to find storage and display space. Clutter wastes time, is messy, and often causes frustration, stress, and overwhelm.

Just like snow, the same solution applies to clutter.

When you have snow, clear it out.

Once the clutter is gone, you'll have a clearer path to your 'destination'...whether that destination is an orderly home, a day without wasted time and frustration, or a less chaotic space that allows your mind to rest and focus.
