  Organizing Thought of the Day

A Tale of Lost Keys

I received a truckload of GON reader notes in response to my January 19th Lost and Found Newsletter issue ...and I'll be sharing many of them in my upcoming newsletters because they're all so interesting. I really enjoyed the one below...it's well written, made me smile, and includes a great organizing tip regarding key chains. Here goes:

I write to share 'A Tale of Lost Keys in COVID-19' from last May.

We lost them on Sunday, May 31, at about 7:30 a.m. on our morning walk at the local park, where I take my springer spaniel, Coffee, for a walk most days. The park was freshly mown. Bright and sunny day.

We searched the park four times that day, twice with a metal detector. Several neighborly strangers helped at various points, to no avail.

We searched the park again on Monday morning and Monday afternoon. I even pulled all of the poop bags out of the poo station bucket (with gloves). Gross. Eww. Don't put this on your bucket list. No keys.

Saint Anthony was busy with world matters and hadn't yet answered my call of prayer.

Searched again, half-heartedly, on Tuesday morning. Stormy weather was brewing, but passed over us. Storms were, at that point, predicted for Wednesday.

In the afternoon, I brought a rake and boots and dove (not literally) into the muck of the viaduct where there is lots of reed grass and refuse. Again, gross.

About to give up, I trudged out of the viaduct toward the doggie poo station to make Coffee's afternoon deposit. The sun was shining at this point. My eyes caught a glimmer of something shiny about ten feet away from the poo station on the ground. At last, my key and key fob, on a simple set of two metal key rings, spotted me. They were looking up at me and laughing in the grass. I could hear them say, 'you walked by us sixteen times.' Here we are!

We found them at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2. Saint Anthony (patron saint of lost things) heard my call.

Please, make friends with St. Anthony...and/or put something bright, colorful, large, and puffy on your key chain so you can find them. I have a bright, green, plush, turtle key chain that can be seen no matter the weather now. Please hold on to your keys!

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I loved it, especially the part when you found your keys. Big sigh of relief! And your dog's name is just adorable!

  Something Special For You

Get Your Free Pass
to the Heart Brain Online Event

February is heart health month, and I have something very special for you.

Most people don't know this, but the heart sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart. Those heart signals contain a wide range of information that affect how the brain thinks and perceives.

These heart signals have a significant effect on brain function and improve positive emotions, attention, perception, memory, problem-solving, and intuition. It also greatly reduces insecurity and stress, which are huge obstacles to success.

When the heart and brain are in sync, your intelligence expands and you gain access to more intuitive downloads and meaningful insights. Heart health is not only physical, but also emotional. During the Heart Brain Fest, you will learn all about syncing your heart and brain for your health and well-being.
