  Organizing Thought of the Day

Where Should That Paper Go?

One reason why so much paper ends up piling up on tables and desks is because many people find it difficult to determine where that paper should go once they have it. Here are some paper destinations:

* For household and office papers that must be retained, and referenced from time to time, storing those papers in a filing cabinet, with a good filing system in place, is usually the best answer.

* For papers that require action--tickets you have to order, invitations you must respond to, receipts for things that have to be picked up at the dry cleaner, etc., a 'Tickler File' is a wonderful helper. (Hint: there's one in My Oh-So-Organized Filing System ...described in this newsletter)

* For bills that you're still receiving in the regular mail, use a bill paying system that allows you to pay your bills and then store paid bill receipts. You can create your own with a 3-ring binder and 3-hole file jackets or a portable file storage box with folders.

* A file storage box is perfect for kids' school papers, permission slips, homework, and art work.. Have a separate one for each child, along with hanging folders, as well as categorized manila file folders for each topic.

* For projects that you're currently working on, individual pocket folders--one folder per project--all contained within a 3-ring binder, is an excellent tool. This can be called your ACTION BINDER.

* Business cards are best stored in a business card holder or in a Rolodex. The same goes for any addresses or phone numbers floating around on scraps of paper. Alternately, you can download apps on your cell phone for both and access this information digitally when you need it, rather than keeping the physical card.

* Of course, most people keep tons of paper...and 80% or more of it is never given a second thought. A great place for papers that you don't need is your recycling container.

If you have a category of paper and are wondering what to do with it, reply back with the specifics. I will consider covering that topic in a future newsletter issue.

  Something Special For You

LAST CHANCE
to Get Your Free Pass
to the Heart Brain Online Event

This event BEGINS ON FEBRUARY 15TH

February is heart health month, and I have something very special for you.

Most people don't know this, but the heart sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart. Those heart signals contain a wide range of information that affect how the brain thinks and perceives.

These heart signals have a significant effect on brain function and improve positive emotions, attention, perception, memory, problem-solving, and intuition. They also greatly reduce insecurity and stress, which are huge obstacles to success.

When the heart and brain are in sync, your intelligence expands and you gain access to more intuitive downloads and meaningful insights. Heart health is not only physical, but also emotional. During the Heart Brain Fest, you will learn all about syncing your heart and brain for your health and well-being.
