5 Things That Make Me Joyful
|
The other day, I was taking a virtual seminar. As an ice breaker, the presenter
asked, 'Name 5 random things that make you joyful.' As a rule, I couldn't
include the obvious answers...my health, my family, life in general. Here's what
I came up with:
1. Fresh flowers. My daughter's friend recently bought my daughter tulips
for her birthday, and they have been brightening our whole kitchen for weeks.
2. The aroma of something 'savory' cooking. I made mushroom stroganoff
the other day and it smelled divine as it was cooking...and, when it was done,
tasted amazing too.
3. Clean sheets. I love ending my day in a cozy bed...especially on the day
I've changed the sheets to a clean set.
4. Looking through old photo albums/scrapbooks. There are so many stories
in the photos we've taken. Taking new photos makes me happy as well...because I
know doing so will create many wonderful memories later.
5. Being in an organized, tidy room. A room that is orderly, no dust in
sight, no crumbs or lint on the floor, everything in its place...that makes my
heart happy.
