  Organizing Thought of the Day

GON Reader Mail...Wonderful Ideas and Support

Quick Cleaning the Bathroom

This has been in your newsletter before, but bares repeating. At night I 'quick clean' the bathroom with a antibacterial wipe. The faucets, sinks, counter, and toilet seat. It is surface clean, but if a friend needs to use the bathroom, I don't have to feel embarrassed.

I am retired with my husband. Our son, who does work outside the home, lives with us, so you know how a bathroom can get with two men in the house!

I enjoy your newsletter. I like to scrapbook, travel, and help in my church with my time.

Keeping Tools Easily Accessible
I wanted to share support for the reader (Mar 8th issue) whose spouse won't organize. My husband also won't even get rid of empty boxes. We moved from Utah to California and there were boxes of his that weren't unpacked for 5 years. But if I get rid of it, he will immediately ask for some tiny thing that was in that box. It has resulted in some really bad feelings on both sides.

Now I just pile everything up by his desk. I can't stand it, just throw away one thing (the broken handle from the pool cleaner that he said he would fix 6 months ago), the falling apart paperbacks from college 40 years ago. He won't let go of any textbooks - he hates giving them to charity and wants to give them to a school or library - but no one wants them.

There can be a pile of paper that is 10 years old, but if I throw away a single 10 year old statement, he will ask me where it is. He is legally blind without his glasses since childhood and I sometimes think this 'memorizing' where things are is something he does to cope. (I should have known when he walked past me on a beach on our honeymoon because I had moved 6 feet over. He was very upset I moved because I had the room key and he didn't know where I was).

We have been married 35 years, and now I just accept that there will always be some level of hoarder behavior in our house. I have tried to get him to embrace tools to get organized, but he resists them all. I try to contain it to certain areas, but I feel my choices are either adapt or divorce!

These Extras Make Great Gifts!
Hi, Maria!

I'm working on emptying an unfinished basement that is full of 50+ years of stuff (much of which is ruined from dust and dampness). When I'm gone, I don't want my children to have to go through that mess. It gets tiring, and it's easy to feel like I'm not ever going to get the job done. However, I found the perfect mantra on my cat calendar. It keeps me going. 'It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.' - Confucius

Thanks for all your good advice, planning, and organizing to help us become fabulous declutterers! I have gotten so many wonderful, life-changing ideas from your newsletter!

Say Goodbye to Your Dog's
Problem Behaviors with...

Brain Training for Dogs

You'll love this...
and the Complimentary Bonus as well!

To fast forward to making your dog's problem behaviors disappear, visit:

www.getorganizednow.com/rd-brainy-dog.html

No matter what your dog's problem behavior is, be it jumping, peeing in the house, aggression, pulling on the leash...or whatever, there is ONE SOLUTION that can help STOP this problem now.

The sad fact is, most dog trainers miss this solution entirely. They give you cookie cutting training programs. They use outdated, mean, and unkind dominance techniques. Or worse yet, they have no qualifications to be offering advice. So what's the answer to stopping your dog's behavioral problems? In 5 simple words...

Discovering your dog's hidden intelligence.

Let me explain. More intelligent dogs are better behaved. A more intelligent dog takes commands easier and understands what you need. The good news is, no matter how clever you think your dog is, you can unlock your pet's hidden intelligence quickly and easily.

Don't waste a second longer coping with problem behaviors you don't need to be dealing with. Visit this link to learn more about Brain Training for Dogs:

P.S. When you visit the link, you'll also find out how to get Behavior Training for Dogs complimentary. I'll remind you up until the deadline on Friday, March 19th, at 11:59 p.m.
