Lost and Found Stories
from GON Readers

Awhile ago, I asked GON readers for their 'Lost and Found' stories. I published a bunch at the time, but received so many that I couldn't fit them all. I thought now would be a great time to include them. Here goes:

My Son's Lost Wallet

Hi Maria,

My son, Cameron, has Down Syndrome. When he started school, I picked up a TILE (location finder) to put inside his backpack. He had lots of things in his backpack: hearing aids, wallet, lunch box and school work. We used it a few times to locate his bag. After several years, we were good with the backpack, but now Cameron was needing to have a wallet with his State ID, School ID and a few dollars for the school store. I replaced the backpack TILE with a smaller, thinner one and placed it inside his wallet.

One day Cameron was on a field trip with school and when he returned home he did not have his wallet. We were all very sad. I called the bus company and they checked the bus but no luck. They checked at school. No luck and even contacted the field trip location.

Suddenly I remembered the new TILE I had put in Cameron's wallet! I brought up my TILE app, pressed the TILE labeled for Cameron's wallet. It brought up the Bus Depot address for our local school. It was on the bus, it must have fallen out of his pocket and was between the seat and the wall!

We were so happy to get his wallet back! The next thing we did was put a wide rubber band on the wallet to keep it from slipping out of his pocket (causes friction).

Thanks for all your inspiration!

My Lost Wedding Ring
Hi Maria,

I used to take off my wedding ring when I baked/cooked and set it on the counter somewhere until I was done. Then, one day, I realized that my ring was nowhere to be found. We searched everywhere - drawers, cushions, trash, central vac receptacle, etc.....to no avail. I made sad peace with the fact that it was gone.

Fast forward a year, when I am baking cookies one day. When I pulled the mixer out of its storage area, I heard the drop of metal on the counter. There was my ring! It had somehow got onto one of the legs on the bottom of the mixer and hadn't fallen out on any other times I had baked.

I was so happy to have it back. I now have one spot on my dresser where the ring goes when it's not on my hand.

My Lost Keys
Maria,

I once lost my keys for a whole year. We had gone camping and we were taking down the tent (which is the last thing to put away). I always keep an extra set of keys in my console so I thought for sure I would find the lost keys when I unpacked. No such luck.

I found them the following year when we went camping again. They were inside the tent!

Tell me if this at all sounds familiar...

Karen is in her 50s and works a desk job. Her weight's okay, she's reasonably active, but she is 'feeling her age.' Her neck and shoulders are often tight, her joints ache, and overall stiffness sometimes causes her to wince just getting out of her chair. The days that are really frustrating are when she cannot even reach her shoes to tie her laces.

You see, no matter what Karen tries, she's stiff and can't stretch. A muscle or age problem? Not necessarily. Very often, it's because the brain has forgotten how to 'feel' parts of the body...back, hips, shoulders, etc. The brain just becomes no longer aware of those parts. It cannot successfully direct the muscles to move in certain ways.

Science now shows that by re-activating the brain, we can continue to positively evolve and transform physically, mentally, and emotionally to experience an increase in overall performance, flexibility, energy, and enthusiasm.

That's where the Neuromovement Healing Fest comes in. Discover the simple movements that will immediately improve your brain functioning so you can move freely once again without pain...just like in your younger days. You will see super-fast results. Best yet, this event is free of charge. Visit:
