Don't Allow Negative Thoughts to Sabotage Your Progress
|
More often than not, tasks, projects, and/or goals not started (or started, by
not completed) are those sabotaged by our own negative thoughts. If we think we
don't have the ability, don't have the time, don't have the energy, don't have
(you fill in the blank), we've just conveniently given ourselves a good excuse
to not pursue whatever it is.
To help prevent those negative thoughts from taking over:
a) Write yourself motivational messages. Read them every day.
b) Find yourself some life cheerleaders...those who will build you up and
cheer you on.
c) Remove the words, 'I should...' from your vocabulary. Change 'I should
go to the gym' with 'I'm going to the gym tomorrow morning.' Change 'I should
clean the kitchen' with 'I'm going to start by cleaning one kitchen cabinet a
day, beginning today.'
d) Catch yourself. Mindfully recognize any negative thoughts that pop
into your mind, and force yourself to think up two positive thoughts at that
very moment.
e) Be careful about giving yourself 'monster projects.' These are
projects that are so huge, that involve so many steps. Monster projects are
discouraging. Instead, give yourself small projects that you can complete daily
to slowly work your way towards larger goals.

All people have clutter to some degree. You may have a little. You may have a
ton. MOST people are somewhere right in the middle.
For anyone who has clutter, have no doubt in your mind that CLUTTER GROWS. Small
clutter challenges soon turn into large clutter issues.
Plus, clutter is sneaky...it doesn't only show up in the pile of shoes you may
have in your closet, the overload of toys in the toy room, the boxes of stuff in
the basement, or the stuffed-to-the-max drawers and closets in your home.
Clutter can actually invade your life in FOUR forms...
1. Physical Clutter
2. Paper Clutter
3. Digital Clutter
4. Emotional Clutter
Once clutter is here, it begins to wreak all sorts of havoc...
There is only one way to get rid of clutter...and that is by using a proven-
effective clutter-removing system. Only then will you be able to face clutter
head-on and have the clutter-free life you deserve.
Want to say goodbye to your clutter? I have just the thing you need for a
glorious, clutter-free life. For more details, visit:

___ 1. Do today's task on my May Monthly Organizing Checklist. The
May 19 TO DO focuses on your clothes closet. Visit
GetOrganizedNow.com to
access my May Monthly Organizing Checklist.
___ 2. Reframe negative thoughts. Work on recognizing negative thoughts
and immediately reframing them. For instance, 'I hate cleaning the bathroom' can
be reframed to, 'I'm going to clean the bathroom until it sparkles and then
I'm going to invest the next hour kicking my feet up and relaxing' OR 'I'll work
on cleaning the bathroom for 15 minutes, getting done whatever I can in that
time...and get the rest done later this afternoon.'
___ 3. Clean your shower. Keeping your shower walls free of soap scum
makes shower clean-up a whole lot easier. Visit
GetOrganizedNow.com
to access my 'Dirty Little Secret' on this very topic...no scrubbing
required.
'Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always
your choice.' (Wayne Dyer)
