5 Ways to Make the Best Use of Your Clothes Closet Space
|
1. Hang shortest to longest. When you're hanging clothing in your clothes
closet, hang from the shortest categories (like shirts) to the longest (like
jumpsuits and long dresses). Doing this gives you some extra space under those
shorter items. I have lots of open space UNDER my shirts, for instance, that I
use for storing a shoe rack and a small rolling cart.
2. Make use of wall space. Hanging a few
hooks in your closet can help you reclaim
wasted space and can be used for holding belts, purses, jewelry and such. My
daughter uses them to hang her big, floppy sunhats so they don't get crushed.
3. Use multi-tier hangers. I have saved so much space in my closet using
skirt hangers that hold five skirts,
instead of just one. These can also be used for shorts. I keep most of my casual
shorts folded in the dresser, but use these hangers for my fancier ones.
4. Look for empty, unused space. Many closets have empty, unused
space...sometimes over a shelf, sometimes under a shelf, sometimes there is a
big, empty space under something you're hanging. These are prime areas for
adding an extra clothing rod, an additional shelf, an under-the-shelf basket, a
fabric cube to hold sweaters, an
extra bookcase to hold shoes, etc.
5. Keep the volume under control...and be sure what you're storing in your
closet needs to be in there. Finally, whenever possible, don't keep clothes
you don't wear AND try to restrict your clothes closet for items you do wear,
rather than as a catch-all for sporting gear, holiday decor, books, and other
random items.

All people have clutter to some degree. You may have a little. You may have a
ton. MOST people are somewhere right in the middle.
For anyone who has clutter, have no doubt in your mind that CLUTTER GROWS. Small
clutter challenges soon turn into large clutter issues.
Plus, clutter is sneaky...it doesn't only show up in the pile of shoes you may
have in your closet, the overload of toys in the toy room, the boxes of stuff in
the basement, or the stuffed-to-the-max drawers and closets in your home.
Clutter can actually invade your life in FOUR forms...
1. Physical Clutter
2. Paper Clutter
3. Digital Clutter
4. Emotional Clutter
Once clutter is here, it begins to wreak all sorts of havoc...
There is only one way to get rid of clutter...and that is by using a proven-
effective clutter-removing system. Only then will you be able to face clutter
head-on and have the clutter-free life you deserve.
Want to say goodbye to your clutter? I have just the thing you need for a
glorious, clutter-free life. For more details, visit:

___ 2. Donate 3 books. Nearly everyone I know has books they will never
read again. Start decluttering by donating three today...or give them to a
friend who you feel may enjoy them. Tell your friend to pass these books on to
someone else when he/she is done reading them.
___ 3. Assess the number of sweets you eat in a given day. While it's
fun to have a sweet treat now and then, sugar is not very good for our
health. I eat less sweets by doing this one simple thing. Visit
