We Always Have Salad or Soup First

No matter what time of the year it is, my family begins nearly every meal with either a salad or soup. It gives me a plethora of options to serve, and I don't have to cook as much for the main part of the meal. It saves us money, is filling, and can be made healthy and nutritious.

This Helps Me Sleep Better
I feel I eat better, am more active, and a whole lot happier when I've had a good night's sleep. In the past, this was challenging because I could never get comfortable. These days, I use a knee pillow. I sleep on my side, put the pillow between my knees, and am so comfortable now. A friend of mine gave me this tip, and it has truly been a blessing.

More Often Than Not, I Would Skip the Workout
Maria, I'm a busy executive and was having issues finding time to exercise. In the past, I would leave work, drive home, eat, help take care of the kids in preparation for bedtime, work out at home or go for a run, and then relax with my wife for the night. To many people, this may seem great. However, exercising so late was interrupting my sleep patterns, and I found that more often than not, I would skip the workout.

For the past year, I've started waking up early and working out before work. I wear sweatpants and a t-shirt to bed (my workout clothes...so I'm already ready to work out), wake up about an hour and 15 minutes earlier than in the past, when the sun is just coming up. I have a little something to eat while reading a magazine and then I work out for about an hour. I then shower, dress, and go to work. My workout is done for the day. At night, I have plenty of time to be with my family...and when I go to bed, I can actually sleep soundly.
