Organizing Thought of the Day

I Wish I Was As Organized As...
|
Do you envy a friend or relative who appears to be the most organized person you
know? Do you wonder how this person always seems to have a clean home, never
misses appointments, completes dozens of activities, and never seems to break
a sweat? Do you sometimes wish you could be as organized as this person?
If you compare yourself to someone else, you're likely setting yourself up for
failure. Very often, when people compare themselves to other people they tend to
see the best in others, while seeing the very worst in themselves. These
negative feelings don't help people with the motivation they need to get
organized.
You can certainly use a very organized person as a role model, or as someone you
could learn from. But when you're trying to gauge how productive or
clutter-free you are, stop comparing yourself to someone else. There's no way
that your lifestyle and circumstances are exactly the same as another
individual.
Instead, set mini goals for yourself, like weeding out five pairs of shoes you
never wear, deleting 25 unnecessary email messages, or putting all the dishes
piled in the sink into the dishwasher. Begin and complete those goals. Reward
yourself and give yourself a pat on the back. Feeling good about yourself is an
important factor of a successful and positive organizing journey.

their lives. Once you know and apply these actions, you'll be able to harness
and release the happiness that is deep within you.

Happy for Life resource includes the information you need to multiply your
