Fabulous Organizing Tips and Thoughts
from GON Readers
Here are a bunch of tips and thoughts from GON Readers to brighten your day...
Absolving our guilt about poor purchases
Hi, Maria! In response to your July 14th issue,
Thank you for absolving us from our guilt about poor purchases. I too have tossed pantry items neither my husband nor I enjoyed eating.
I do feel OK about donating items that are just gathering dust in the closet.
Thanks for the encouragement to live with our decisions.

Make a Plan
Hello, Maria. In response to your July 15th issue,
I'm thankful I found your newsletter. I have been reading them for quite a while and enjoy your recommendations.
This issue is very timely, as I am in the process of taking care of this for my brother who is reaching this stage. It is difficult to say, the least, but am grateful and this will help us tremendously.
If there is one thing, I would suggest it is that everyone make a plan. It will make it easier for family members who will have to deal with all our stuff when we are gone. I'm guilty of the same, but plan to do this once I'm done taking care of my brother. Thank you.

Important for planning a fire escape route
Maria,
As always your newsletters have been so timely with my life events. Currently we are building a new home, downsizing to a one floor ranch from a 3-bedroom colonial. We have been selling items we no longer need. One of the items is a Res-Q-Ladder which is a portable fire escape chain ladder. Since we will be on the ground floor, it's no longer necessary for us to keep.
It's something people may not consider when planning a fire escape route if bedrooms are on the second or third floors of their home. This ladder is portable and can be hung over the window ledge so anyone can climb down safely from a bedroom window to escape a burning building.
Just thought I'd pass this along to hopefully bring it to your readers' attention.
Thanks for all the great organizational ideas you provide.
