Fabulous Organizing Tips and Thoughts
from GON Readers
Here are a bunch of tips and thoughts from GON Readers to brighten your day...
My Thoughts on Leftovers in the Fridge
Hi Maria,
Regarding labeling foods in the freezer and/or refrigerator, over the years I've tried different methods. I found that some maker pens will 'bleed' the odor into the contents, some smudge out to be illegible, some stickers and tapes come off.
I've settled now for a favorite of the past several years: masking tape. Write with marker pen as preferred to 'biro' style. The larger writing is much easier to read. When using the tape on reusable containers, fold a little under on one end so there is an easy to grip 'tag'. This makes removal a breeze.
Place labels on tops or sides of containers, so that they can be read without moving things around. Open the door or drawer and it's right there looking at you.
Beware of 'I know what that is, I won't forget, I'll use it tomorrow.' Remember, tomorrow never comes. Sometimes a simple 'Monday,' or 'Thursday' is all you need for those things.
Hoping this may be helpful to someone.
Cheers!

I Heartily Endorse Your Take Action Tip
Hi Maria,
Regarding your July 20 issue,
Organize Your Way to Better Health...
I enjoy your newsletters. I heartily endorse the take action step about 'bring your flip flops'. I always say the most important safety habit I use at the gym is wearing my 'shower shoes' (flip flops). Before taking up this habit, I had contracted a planter's wart. Ever since then, I have worn shower shoes and have had no more problems. I dry them after every use and disinfect them regularly. Keep up the good work!

Keeping Memories Visible and Alive
Ciao Maria,
I have been reading your posts and suggestions for years! My suggestion for memories is to frame them, turning old photos and kids artwork and cards into artistic pieces to decorate your home. They could even be themed, i.e. Christmas, springtime, love, celebration. Kindest regards from Italy!
