The Waiting Game

Here’s a
curious statistic: the average person spends nearly six months of their life waiting at red lights. That’s 4,320 hours of staring at intersections, hands on the wheel, mind wandering. It’s an oddly poetic number; all that time just…waiting.

What if we reclaimed some of it? Instead of sighing at every light, you could turn
that pause into something small but meaningful.

Listen to one song all the way through without skipping.

Do a few deep breaths.

Think about one thing you’re grateful for before the light turns green.

We often think of time as something that’s taken from us, but it’s also something we can reclaim in unexpected moments. Red lights, lines at the grocery store, or waiting for your computer to restarta are all tiny invitations to be still.

My advice? The next time that traffic light holds you hostage, see it as a reset button!
